I’ve posted before that application essay prompts typically vary little from year to year.

It’s now been confirmed that the Common Application, which is used by 463 undergraduate schools, isn’t updating its essay prompts at all for 2011.

Additionally, the University of California system is bringing back the essay prompts it used in its own application last year.

While June may seem a bit early to talk college applications, starting some of your essays now will alleviate a lot of pressure during the fall. Early decision and early action deadlines begin as soon as October.
