The New York Times blog The Choice recently spoke with college counselors across the U.S. to get an update on the admissions season thus far.
The consensus is that early decision and early action have been especially popular this year. Even students applying regular decision are getting in their apps early at the behest of schools.
Additionally, counselors report that public institutions (both in- and out-of-state) have been very popular with the many applicants seeking bargains.
