Earlier today, on The Choice, a college student shared her experience with a serious illness during her sophomore year.
Based on her struggles, she offered the following advice to students with medical conditions who plan to attend college away from home:
- Before you leave, assemble your medical records and find a doctor near your school. Do this even if you currently feel okay.
- At the start of each semester, tell all of your professors about your condition. This will make things easier if it flares up and you need to miss classes.
If you’re proactive, a medical condition is less likely to derail your health or your academic career. Click here to read more on The Choice.
