With college “decision season” now underway, many students are facing that regrettable but inevitable part of selective admissions: rejection.
Let’s face it: rejections can be tough to handle. This is true even when they come from reach schools.
Of course, students should always apply to a smart list of schools with at least one “sure thing.” However, not all students put adequate time or thought into their school list; some will be left without any offers (or affordable offers) for the fall.
While this situation isn’t ideal, a recent post on Schools.com points out that it isn’t the end of the world.
Many students head to community college for a year and then transfer to another school in the fall. Others take a “gap year” before reapplying.
