In California, one community college's plan to increase its cash flow has met with serious resistance.
Over the last several weeks, students at Santa Monica College have protested the college’s plan to increase the cost of its most popular courses from around $100 to $600 each. They argue this plan—referred to as “tiered pricing”—would give students with more money greater access to these courses.
Their argument hasn’t fallen on deaf ears; last Friday, the college’s board of trustees voted to indefinitely postpone “tiered pricing.” Click here to read more to the New York Times.
