Several student staffers at The Red & Black, the University of Georgia’s campus newspaper, walked off the job this week, reports the Athens Banner-Herald
The focus of their ire was the board of directors that oversees the paper.
According to the disgruntled former staffers, the board had been pressuring them to produce stories and features with a positive spin. This week, it issued a series of new rules concerning content, and put non-students in several key positions—including editorial director—which prompted the student staffers to quit.
The students are currently writing at Readanddead.com.
This afternoon, The Red & Black’s board of directors issued an apology—click here to check it out on The Huffington Post.
