Do you enjoy video games? Would you be excited by an interdisciplinary major that combines elements of cognitive science, math, fine art, and computer science?
If you answered “yes” to both of these questions, a game design program might be right for you.
A diverse range of institutions—including universities, schools of art, and institutes of technology—offer such programs. Today, The Princeton Review identifies the best of them in its "Top Schools to Study Video Game Design for 2013" report.
The report names the top undergraduate and graduate game-design programs based on their course offerings, faculty accomplishments, facilities, career services, and financial aid. The best program for undergrads is at the University of Utah; the best program for grads is at the University of Southern California.
